Breast ultrasound or sonography is an integral component in the evaluation of the breast. Breast ultrasound is a painless procedure and does not expose you to radiation.
Ultrasonography Screening
Screening ultrasound can be performed in women who have dense breast tissue and moderate risk factors as an adjunct to mammography in the detection of breast abnormalities.
Ultrasonography Diagnostic
Findings identified on mammography may be better characterized using our state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment. Ultrasound provides information that helps to identify a finding as benign or one that may need further evaluation. Ultrasound has become the standard method of evaluation for most palpable abnormalities or breast lumps. In addition, sonography may be used to evaluate suspected breast implant rupture.
All results are given to the patient at the time of the study and communicated to the referring physician.
